Hareer for Community Development participated in an awareness lecture organized by the Oncology, Radiotherapy, and Nuclear Medicine Hospital at Al-Bashir Hospitals as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Pink October). The organization highlighted the importance of psychological and social support for cancer patients and showcased its humanitarian initiatives, particularly the “Wig of Hope” initiative.
Hareer's participation reflected its humanitarian and community-driven mission to support patients and improve their quality of life. During the lecture, the organization emphasized the importance of psychological and social support as an essential complement to medical care, highlighting its role in helping cancer patients cope with the emotional and psychological challenges associated with diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
The organization also presented its key humanitarian programs and initiatives dedicated to supporting cancer patients, particularly the “Wig of Hope” initiative, which provides free natural-hair wigs to individuals affected by cancer. This initiative aims to restore self-confidence, promote emotional well-being, and provide psychological support throughout their treatment journey.
During its participation, Hareer emphasized that addressing breast cancer goes beyond medical treatment alone. It requires a comprehensive support system that includes psychological and social care, family and community involvement, and efforts to strengthen patients' self-confidence. The organization also stressed the importance of creating a supportive environment that recognizes and responds to the emotional and humanitarian needs of patients throughout the different stages of treatment.
Hareer for Community Development expressed its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the management of Al-Bashir Hospitals, the Oncology, Radiotherapy, and Nuclear Medicine Hospital, and its medical and administrative staff for organizing the awareness lecture and providing the organization with an opportunity to contribute to the discussion on psychosocial care for cancer patients. Hareer also commended their continued efforts to promote health awareness and provide comprehensive medical and compassionate care.
The organization concluded its participation by reaffirming its commitment to implementing health, humanitarian, and awareness initiatives while strengthening partnerships with healthcare institutions. Through these efforts, Hareer seeks to support patients and their families, promote a culture of solidarity and community compassion, and reinforce its belief that psychological care and humanitarian support are fundamental pillars of the treatment and recovery journey.
